Privacy policy

How I look after your personal information.

Last updated: 2 November 2026. DRAFT: check every item marked in square brackets before publishing.

Who I am

KindMind Counselling is run by Fiona Denny, a sole practitioner. I am the data controller for personal information I collect about you. Contact: hello@kindmindcounselling.com.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration number: ZB743017.

What information I collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address and anything you choose to write when you contact me.
  • Bookings: when you book a free call through the booking link, Google Calendar collects the details you enter, which I then see to arrange the call. Google's own privacy policy applies to that process.
  • Client records: if we work together, I keep notes and contact details needed to provide and record therapy. I hold these confidentially and only share them where the law requires, or where you have given consent.

Why I use your information

To respond to your enquiry, arrange your sessions, provide counselling, keep the records my professional body requires, and handle payments and invoices.

How long I keep information

Enquiries are kept for [PERIOD]. Client records are kept for seven years, after which they are securely deleted.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies or use analytics or advertising trackers. If you follow a booking link, the booking page is hosted by Google and may set its own cookies. Please see Google's privacy and cookie information for details.

Sharing your information

I use third-party services to run this business, such as Google Calendar, email and secure storage for records. They process information only on my instructions. I do not sell your information.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information I hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask me to delete it in some circumstances, to restrict or object to its use, and to complain. To use any of these rights, email me at fiona.denny@gmail.com.

Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
